During work we meet people with remarkable- and sometimes funny quotes, which often have a certain value of truth or understandable faults in them. At the same time I think some issues could use a critical note.

From a manufacturer:
" Do you want something that is approved, or something that works ? "

From the transport sector:
“ Are there any items you want to move heavier than they are big ? ”

From a naval engineer:
“ Do you mean the weight in air or the weight in water ? ”

From a co-designer:
" Consensus between a different set of rules and regulations, in the end means often more rules and regulations so
  all parties can keep their heads up. "

From KHMB:
" Class Authorities  examine approval drawings to criteria-, not necessarily  to safety ".
